Absentee Voting Information

Absentee Voting--In Person


Any person may apply for an absentee ballot in person from the clerk or an absentee voting official 15 days before an election, up to and including the day before the date of the election, by completing an absentee in person envelope.

Absentee-In Person voting will be available at the Borough Clerk's Office beginning on Monday, September 19 through Monday, October 3, 2016.

Absentee Voting--By Mail


Any person may apply for an absentee ballot by mail. The application shall include the address to which the absentee ballot shall be sent and the applicant's full Alaska residence address and signature.

Applications for Absentee-By Mail voting are available starting April 4 and must be submitted by Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 5 p.m.

Personal Representative Voting


Any person with a disability who, because of that disability, is unable to go to a polling place to vote may vote a personal representative ballot, or the voter may, through a representative, request a personal representative ballot from the clerk or an absentee voting official 15 days before an election, up to and including the day before the date of the election, or from an election precinct voting official on Election Day.
